Chesi & Metzg x YourStore – Hybrid Store
Margrit Zaugg was faced with a difficult search for a successor for her shop. With YourStore's hybrid store concept, she is saving the village shop and extending the opening hours.
Staff Shortage as a Turning Point
In the heart of the village center of Mümliswil, Margrit Zaugg runs the "Chesi & Metzg im Guldental" with great passion. As a trained butcher, she combines meat and cheese expertise under one roof and provides an important meeting place for the village community. However, long-serving employees were reaching retirement age.
In addition, personnel resources were lost due to health reasons, which drastically increased the presence times for the owner. Finding new staff proved to be extremely difficult. In order to preserve the shop for the village and reduce her own burden, a sustainable solution was urgently needed.
The Hybrid Concept in Practice
Together with YourStore, the team realized a hybrid store concept that combines personal sales with intelligent automation. In the mornings, customers continue to benefit from personal service provided by Margrit Zaugg and her team.
From midday and at weekends, the system seamlessly switches to autonomous self-checkout operation until 9 PM. As the operating system, the YourStore platform orchestrates the hardware in the background. Customers register once via a QR code at the entrance to gain access. Subsequently, intelligent light and door controls as well as comprehensive video surveillance ensure maximum security.
New Flexibility for Everyone
Thanks to the retrofit with YourStore technology, "Chesi & Metzg" now also covers off-peak hours and weekends that were previously not economically viable. Younger and spontaneous customers, in particular, enormous appreciate the new, flexible opening hours.
Margrit Zaugg was thus able to ensure the continued existence of her passion project. She gains valuable time for personal consultations in the morning and reduces her own stress levels. The shop remains a central meeting point for the entire village.
