When Vending Machines Reach Their Limits
Direct sales at Sempione AG's production site are popular – so popular that the previous solution became a problem. The meat-processing company originally relied on classic vending machines. However, these reached their capacity limits: high demand could no longer be met.
Additionally, the customer experience suffered from two key factors:
- Assortment Restrictions: The narrow slots of the vending machines allowed no expansion of the product range.
- Technological Vulnerability: Frequent failures and malfunctions frustrated customers and caused unnecessary maintenance effort.
The goal was clear: A solution was needed that would not only extend opening hours but offer a real shopping experience – without burdening the staff resources.
Orchestration in the "QUBE"
To eliminate the bottlenecks, Sempione decided against new vending machines and in favor of a walk-in, modular store of the "QUBE" type. YourStore acts as the operating system that orchestrates the hardware components and enables autonomous operation.
The implementation of the project – from planning to go-live – took only about 6 weeks.
Smart Access Management
Instead of open doors or physical keys, the store relies on our digital access solution. Registered users gain access to the store via app. This guarantees that only identified persons enter the shop – a basic requirement for security and theft prevention in unstaffed 24/7 operations.
Maximum Product Presentation
The technological basis of YourStore enabled the integration of a professional store infrastructure. Instead of narrow spirals, the goods are now presented in high-quality refrigerated display cases. A central cooling system ensures the continuous cold chain and works energy-efficiently, while customers can physically inspect products before purchase.
Smooth Self-Checkout
The payment process has been completely digitized. At the intuitive terminal, customers scan and pay for their meat products independently. This eliminates waiting times and reduces the operational effort in sales to an absolute minimum.
